Management
Brookshaw Residents’ Committee
The Constitution of Brookshaw Home specifies that it is governed by the Brookshaw Residents’ Committee (BRC) who are nominated and elected by the residents of the Home at the Annual General Meeting. The BRC is responsible for managing the affairs and assets of the Home. The BRC appoints the manager, staff and subcontractors to effectively and efficiently manage the day-to-day affairs of the Home.
.Management & Staff
Brookshaw Home is run by a Manager supported by an Office Administrator. Qualified staff nurses or nursing sisters are available 24 hours a day to assist residents to varying degrees, depending on the nature and type of accommodation required and opted for, as follows:
▪ Frail and Assisted Living residents receive continuous care and assistance. Trained staff assist with medication as prescribed by the residents’ medical practitioners.
▪ Other residents receive emergency care and attention when necessary or called for.
▪ A medical staff member visits residents daily during lunch time to monitor their health and wellbeing.
Friends of Brookshaw
Following the bequest of Laura Elizabeth Brookshaw, the local community was instrumental in the establishment of Brookshaw Home, both through civic organisations such as Rotary as well as through individual contributions and participation. Participation of the local community in ensuring the establishment and sustainability of Brookshaw Home has always been channelled through the Friends of Brookshaw Society. The contributions of sponsors and volunteers continue to ensure that the Home goes from strength to strength.
